This indeed is a commendable feat given the fact that other sister
organizations such as Code of conduct and The Independent Corrupt Practices
Commission are doggedly committed to their duties. One issue has however
remained worrisome especially the period of time spent on agitation and other
outcomes. Obviously, the mere absence or lack of effective deterrent as well as
the slow tortoise legal professes are not only hindering the crusade against
corruption but are also creating suspicion, fear and anxiety in the minds of
the people. It’s indeed frustrating and irritating to note that cases involving
politically exposed persons filed many years ago are still pending  or haven’t been diligently prosecuted and
some of the suspects are seen everywhere flaunting their illicit wealth.
Naturally, it’s expected that if such suspected corrupt public officers are not
confined, they should diligently be denied or not offered the opportunities for
them not using  such wealth to influence
decision in the society to their own further advantage.</span></h4>

 Nigeria’s legal system has several
loop-holes that make it difficult if not impossible to cub corruption because
of these social wrongs gradually becoming a way of life in our society.
Specifically, Nigerians seems to have constantly validated the practice of
giving and accepting bribes and other corruptible incentives such as <i>kola</i> <i>nu</i>t
in appreciation or participation of a favor as acceptable norms. Today, many
public officers and functionaries performing oversight functions are heavily
induced so also are states’ chief executives who are offered or flattered with
chieftain title and food items for doing what’s expected of them during their
political tenor in office. In this regard, one would call on our security
agencies especially the intelligence units to become pre-active in their duties
and training with the view to contain the rampaging criminality in our country.
For a menace to be abridged, advocacy against corruption and good examples
should be the best starting point to deal with the hydra headed <span style="text-indent: 0.5in;">MONSTER CALLED
CORRUPTION.</span></h4>

nations is on the process of self discovery and she is a work in progress; one

must be promoted at all level of the society. It is gratifying to note that the
President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration has recovered a number of looted

desirous of terming corruption in our public live, there is need to strengthen
relevant institutions such as the judiciary and allied agencies dealing with
corruption, to achieve this, we must develop active social conscience so that
we can expose doers of evil wherever they are found. Problems of unemployment
and insecurity will not disappear no matter how much we pray if we fail to term
the virus called corruption.<br />It’s generally known that corruption in whatever
manifestation has been a major developmental challenge in Nigeria for a long
time now, according to statistics, most Nigerians, regardless of religious or
tribal connotations, consider the fight against corruption as the country’s
topmost priority in view of it validating negative effect on the nation and it
people. From one administration to another both civilian and military, the
scorch of corruption has continued to challenge our existence with little or no
success on the fight against this MONSTER.</h4>

way forward should be for all Nigerians to undergo basic education foundation
(compulsory), government of all forms should put a stop to this sorting (bribe
in schools) and create vocational skills centers for those that may not like
education. Government should reduce the high charges of fees in schools, try to
discourage private schools, carryout empowerment programs, revisit the
agricultural sector and stop fighting pass politicians in the name of fighting
corruption and learn to be transparent in our endeavors.     </span></h4>
