<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="text-indent: 0.5in;">In Nigeria today, corruption plays out in a variety of ways,
it perpetrates poverty; impeach economic growth, undermined #governance, deemed
the beam of development. While corruption is celebrated in Nigeria, else where,
the issue is totally different and repulsive. Corruption in Nigeria is
systematical and it permits every stratum of society through bribery or
administrative corruption, nepotism and appropriation of public fund. In
countries like France, India, Italy and United Kingdom, corrupt public office
holders incurred the rot of the people and those that fingers of accusation are
directed at are either forced to resign their position/position or they
voluntarily offered to resign. Such remorseful action on the part of public
officers is a aridity In Nigeria; partly because criminality is celebrated just
as integrity is usually dumped in trash cans.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<a href="http://www.3in1usatraffic.com/images/logo.png" target="_blank">get traffic straight to ya site now for website/blog owners, it real and welcoming</a></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<br />In the first and second republic, just as in the last decade
of democratic experience, corruption has been quite visible and articulated in
the political lazes to the extent that stealing or impropriety was not as
clearly classified as corruption. This not withstanding, it seems to be no
respite from the menace instead the cancer eats and it still eating deep into
the fabric of the political life to the extend that it almost incapacitate the
security agencies established as a watchdog. The anti-corruption agencies such
as The Independent Corrupt Practice Commission [ICPC], The Economic &
financial Crime Commission [<a href="https://www.google.com.ng/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjR2oXJu9jNAhXqAcAKHZTyDNQQFggdMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fefccnigeria.org%2F&usg=AFQjCNF3o903kA6sC9OEI8dhUyHlctCycw&sig2=SQ_Rc8KTzjxU8PXDFApq1w" style="text-indent: 0.5in;" target="_blank">EFCC</a><span style="text-indent: 0.5in;">] & The Code of Conduct Bureau where
established with the view to reversing the decayed and the retardation within
the infrastructure of government and the society, in physical, social and human
terms appears to have emasculated. Though these agencies have to some extent
provided the editorial backbone in the fight against corruption, they seem to
be bored by allegations bordering on things of selectivity in their operation,
its however consoling that the Anti-Corruption agencies are making some efforts
to justify their establishment. For instance, the </span><a href="https://www.google.com.ng/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjR2oXJu9jNAhXqAcAKHZTyDNQQFggdMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fefccnigeria.org%2F&usg=AFQjCNF3o903kA6sC9OEI8dhUyHlctCycw&sig2=SQ_Rc8KTzjxU8PXDFApq1w" style="text-indent: 0.5in;" target="_blank">EFCC</a><span style="text-indent: 0.5in;"> through it chairmen Mr.
Lamode last year disclosed that the commission is currently persecuting severed
high profile cases beside many other cases pending before the courts of law.
This indeed is a commendable feat given the fact that other sister
organizations such as Code of conduct and The Independent Corrupt Practices
Commission are doggedly committed to their duties. One issue has however
remained worrisome especially the period of time spent on agitation and other
outcomes. Obviously, the mere absence or lack of effective deterrent as well as
the slow tortoise legal professes are not only hindering the crusade against
corruption but are also creating suspicion, fear and anxiety in the minds of
the people. It’s indeed frustrating and irritating to note that cases involving
politically exposed persons filed many years ago are still pending  or haven’t been diligently prosecuted and
some of the suspects are seen everywhere flaunting their illicit wealth.
Naturally, it’s expected that if such suspected corrupt public officers are not
confined, they should diligently be denied or not offered the opportunities for
them not using  such wealth to influence
decision in the society to their own further advantage.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">
 Nigeria’s legal system has several
loop-holes that make it difficult if not impossible to cub corruption because
of these social wrongs gradually becoming a way of life in our society.
Specifically, Nigerians seems to have constantly validated the practice of
giving and accepting bribes and other corruptible incentives such as <i>kola</i> <i>nu</i>t
in appreciation or participation of a favor as acceptable norms. Today, many
public officers and functionaries performing oversight functions are heavily
induced so also are states’ chief executives who are offered or flattered with
chieftain title and food items for doing what’s expected of them during their
political tenor in office. In this regard, one would call on our security
agencies especially the intelligence units to become pre-active in their duties
and training with the view to contain the rampaging criminality in our country.
For a menace to be abridged, advocacy against corruption and good examples
should be the best starting point to deal with the hydra headed <span style="text-indent: 0.5in;">MONSTER CALLED
CORRUPTION.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">

work on our flaws toward corruption.</h4>

<h4 style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<br />If the country if to make progress on the economic and
political growth, we must form the culture of zero tolerance for corruption it
must be promoted at all level of the society. It is gratifying to note that the
President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration has recovered a number of looted
public funds (though no account). If indeed the present administration is
desirous of terming corruption in our public live, there is need to strengthen
relevant institutions such as the judiciary and allied agencies dealing with
corruption, to achieve this, we must develop active social conscience so that
we can expose doers of evil wherever they are found. Problems of unemployment
and insecurity will not disappear no matter how much we pray if we fail to term
the virus called corruption.<br />It’s generally known that corruption in whatever
manifestation has been a major developmental challenge in Nigeria for a long
time now, according to statistics, most Nigerians, regardless of religious or
tribal connotations, consider the fight against corruption as the country’s
topmost priority in view of it validating negative effect on the nation and it
people. From one administration to another both civilian and military, the
scorch of corruption has continued to challenge our existence with little or no
success on the fight against this MONSTER.</h4>

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<br />            According to Peter F. Dorker,
a foremost thinker and authority on the subject of leadership and management, #Passion is the discovery of a deep desire burn out of a conviction that renders
an individual, possessed by commitment to a divine and greater purpose in life.
Indeed; it is a controlling desire that exudes the boundaries of casual
interest of concern and transport the person into the realm of obligation in
essence, true leadership passion is the discovery of a believe, reason, idea,
conviction/course not just to live for but also to die for, which focuses on
benefiting the whole of mankind.<br /> Set differently, these components of leadership are the heart of influence
and a generator of the energy, resilience of a leader; it is anchored on the
personal result and willingness of the leader to sacrifice his interest and
comfort for the sake of a noble course that can impact in others a desire to
help achieve a defined goal or vision.</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<br />            This vital aspect of
effective leadership components was expressed in the lives of all great leaders
throughout history and identifies what separate them from their followers.<br />For instance, Nelson Mandela (Mandiba) one of the world most respected
leaders life purpose was the elimination of the policy of apathy and the
establishment of racial equality in South Africa<br />At his assessment, Mandiba explained his vision for his country thus “I
have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination.
I have cherished the idea of democratic and free society in which all persons
live together in harmony and equal opportunities; it’s an ideal which I hope to
live for and to achieve but if need be, it’s an ideal for which I’m prepare to
die”.<br />            </h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
Unarguably, his vision
inspired not only millions of his country’s men and women but also countless
millions around the world. The same goes for Martin Luther King Junior, whose
passion for his country is encapsulated in his unforgettable speech “I have a
dream”.<br />Dr. King helps to change both laws and heart in America leading to greater
equality and freedom in the country.</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<br />There is many more exemplar leaders whose ideals are govern by the powers
of Passion; they include: Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Regan, Churchill of
Great Britain and in the Bible we have the likes of: Paul, Nehemiah, Queen
Esther and kind David whose live long rationale was a desire to serve God,
restore the honor of nation and strengthen people politically and militarily.<br />Can this be said of leaders in Nigeria??? However, before now in Nigeria,
Our leaders followed their party manifestos with great passion and politics was
played on ideological device; as could be seen from the nations past political
performance which has only succeeded in launching ourselves to the progressive
circle which solitary generation’s expectation becomes the experience of the
next. Non-the-less, great minds like; </h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
Chief Obafemi Awolowo, </h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
one of the most
articulated exponent of this moral purpose, which his political vision lays
more abundance and defined it as freedom from wants, ignorant, disease and
British rule. His emphasis on universal education, universal healthcare and
sole employment essentially summarize the political priority of a nationalist<br />            Indeed, the notion of a
state as an empowering force of human potential found expressing on our world’s
democratic socialism. The socialist impulse yield good fruits and united the
nation but today, our leaders have been driven purely by the pursuit of wealth
without sweat, squeezed from the remote oil-rich creeks as huge human and
ecological cost, again, others not driven by passion or political ideology move
back and forth in the political state decamping to one party or the other
seeking opportunity to grab power.</h3>

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<br /> Be that it may, the challenge before us now is to stare to the future with
great optimism, a future where terrorism , oppression and intimidation shall no
longer influence our choice of leaders for the component of true leadership
driven by Passion and motivated by vision and inspiration. Men & women,
divinely committed to switch the spare to hope & promise to success, which
is what Passion as an essential component of true leadership entails.               </h3>
