Marine's ears left ringing after Afghan sniper shoots his helmet

An #American soldier in Afghanistan has been shot in the head by a Taliban sniper and lived to tell the tale.
The #Marine was taking part in a raid in the Now Zad district of Helmand Province last year when a sniper hit his Kevlar helmet, DanglingReport.
Video of the incident shows the moment the soldier was picked off as he stood in the doorway of a mud hut and was about to step out into the open.
The bullet makes a dull thudding sound as it impacts the helmet and send the Americans running in the opposite direction.
"I saw it hit your Kevlar," one of the soldier's comrades says after they make a quick retreat.
"Lucky son of a bitch.".
It is unclear if the man suffered any side effects other than ringing ears.
